"Chuck Cooper, drummer and founding member of the Myrtle-Beach based Hard Rock band Confliction has chosen to leave the group, effective July 1, 2006. A percussionist and drummer for 28 years, Chuck is originally from High Point, North Carolina, but moved to the Myrtle Beach area after graduating from Virginia Tech with a degree in Architecture. Chuck is currently working as a Construction Administrator with Timbes Architectural Group in Myrtle Beach and is seeking licensure as a registered Architect.
Chuck helped found the band known as Mechanizm back in 1999, which eventually became Confliction in 2001 with the addition of Tripp Gaddy on guitar to the lineup (at the time) of Rollin Carver on vocals and Rich Vascovich on bass. Since then Confliction has changed bass players twice: Matt Fortin played with them from 6/04- 6/05 and Billy Raim picked up in 6/05 through the present. Recent U.S. tours have taken them to cities including Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Phoenix, El Paso, Nashville, Memphis, Atlanta, Tampa, Orlando, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Richmond, as well as many other cities. Confliction has played with National Acts such as System of a Down, Seether, Saliva, Soil, Shinedown, Hatebreed, Soulfly, Mudvayne, Powerman 5000, Nonpoint, C.O.C., Sloth, Down the Sun, Presence, Quiet Riot, Ja Rule, Trust Company, Burn Season, Bloodsimple, Memento, Vendetta Red, and many more bands, as well as getting radio airplay on 18 U.S. stations and overseas stations in Germany, Serbia, Montenegro, and Australia"
